I had the honored and privilege of being a faculty member at the 2014 Chuckanut Writer’s Conference. I had a blast! Not only did I have the opportunity to teach but I was able to take part in classes lead by a few of my favorite writers/humans. I really needed this. I got out of the city, was reminded why I love to write and why I am a writer. I learned new techniques and strategies to approach writing and added to my summer reading list. Thought I would share with you guys who I’ll be reading this summer thanks to the Chuckanut Writer’s Conference.
Elaina Ellis – “Write about an Empty Birdcage”
Kristiana Kahakauwila – “This Is Paradise: Stories”
Thor Hanson – “Feathers: The Evolution of a Natural Miracle”
Karen Finneyfrock – “Starbird Murphy and the World Outside”
Just a name a few but for the list of faculty at this year’s Chuckanut Writer’s Conference here.
I was also really happy to hang out with interesting and thoughtful people who want to have discussions and talk. I was lucky enough to laugh the hardest that I’ve laughed in a long time. I’ve been to a lot of conference but this one was a highlight of the craft and the people who love. There was opportunity to share and a real sense of community. Hope I get to go next year!
